Mark Kary – Chief Executive

Mark began his career in Finance at Chemical Bank in 1982. He joined Morgan Stanley’s UHNW Private Wealth Management Group in 1986 where he advised UK and European family offices, charities and endowments on asset allocation and investments. From 2002, he was the Managing Director in charge of Morgan Stanley’s Northern European UHNW business. He resigned in 2005 to become the CEO of Polar Capital. Mark was educated at Eton and Oxford.

John Mansell – Chief Operating Officer

John joined Polar Capital in 2001 as a director. He is responsible for the operations, compliance, risk, finance, IT and human resource functions within the company. Before joining Polar Capital he spent 11 years at Lazard Asset Management. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales. Prior to his conversion to the world of finance he gained his engineering degree from Nottingham University and spent five years as a commissioned officer in the military.

Tim Woolley – Director/Founder

Tim began his career as a systems analyst for two leading financial service companies. He then joined Prolific as a trainee US fund manager in 1987 and was promoted to lead manager of the technology fund in 1993. He joined Henderson’s technology team in 1996 and launched the Henderson Horizon fund that focused on small and mid cap companies. Tim left with Brian to establish Polar Capital Partners in 2001.
