Philip Hardy – Fund Manager

Philip began his career at Laing & Cruickshank Stockbrokers, with a focus on traded option strategies before moving to Schroders in 1988. His first year at Schroders was spent as a PM assistant followed by two years in UK equity research. During this time he was given the UK equity portion of an institutional portfolio to manage. In January 1992 Philip was asked to become a founding member of the Specialist UK Equity Team and also took on the management of the Schroder UK Equity Fund as well as running proprietary money. During the last two years of his career there, Philip managed large cap, Pan-European money for predominantly North American clients.

Nick Shenton – Analyst

Nick joined Polar Capital in July 2007 from F&C Investments, where he began his career as a graduate in September 2003. He worked as an analyst and assistant fund manager on the UK and latterly Pan-European equities desks, with a general remit to find investment opportunities across the market. Nick's role is to work with Philip on portfolio construction matters and to perform fundamental, bottom-up analysis on stocks and sectors. He graduated with a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Economics with French from the University of Nottingham in 2002 and is also a CFA charterholder.
