About the team
Polar Capital established the Emerging Markets team in September 2004 when Emil Wolter joined from Pictet & Cie to launch an Asian Ex Japan Fund. The team was expanded in 2006 with the appointment of Samir Patel and Anton Khmelnitski who both originally worked with Emil at Pictet & Cie part of the Emerging Markets team.

Anton Khmelnitski – Eastern European Equities |

|
Anton was born in Moscow but grew up and received his education in Switzerland. He joined Polar Capital in April 2006, prior to polar, Anton spent more than eight years covering Eastern Europe initially at Pictet & Cie as a fund manager responsible for Eastern Europe and the oil sector for global emerging markets. He spent the past three years as head of equities at Kazimir Partners in Moscow (previously Brunswick Asset Management).

Samir Patel – Latin American Equities |

|
Samir joined Polar in March 2006 from Charlemagne Capital where he was a senior fund manager responsible for the firm’s OCCO Latin America hedge fund strategy and the firm’s Magna Latin America long-only fund. Prior to his appointment at Charlemagne, Samir spent nine years as a senior fund manager at Pictet & Cie specialising in Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Bujar Deda – Analyst – Latin America |

|
Bujar joined Polar Capital in April 2006 from FCT Capital Partners where he spent a year as an equity analyst focusing on the Pan-European equities. Prior to this he did an internship programme with EBRD in corporate finance. Bujar holds an MSc from the EDHEC business school in European Business Studies and a BA in Economics from the London Metropolitan University. |

Dmitry Dubovskiy– Analyst – Eastern Europe |

Dmitriy joined Polar Capital in August 2006 as an analyst with responsibility for the EMEA region. He holds an MSc in economics from the New Economic School and MSc in Physics from the Lomonosov Moscow State University. |
